God's Word

This powerful message challenges us to examine our relationship with the most important document we'll ever possess: the Word of God. While we celebrate America's founding documents like the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, we're reminded that these were written by well-intentioned men and remain subject to human interpretation. In contrast, Scripture stands as the eternal, unchanging Word of God—written by over 40 authors across 1,500 years, yet perfectly unified and supernaturally inspired. The sermon draws on 2 Timothy 3:16-17, emphasizing that all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness. Through the inspiring story of missionary David Livingstone, who crossed 30,000 miles of Africa with only his Bible, we see the transformative power of God's Word lived out. The central challenge is convicting: biblical literacy is at an all-time low, even among believers. Many of us have multiple Bibles sitting unused like the FedEx package in the famous Castaway commercial—containing everything we need for life and godliness, yet remaining unopened. We're called to fall in love with Scripture, to consume it daily, and to allow it to transform our doctrine and conduct. When we truly know God's Word, we know God's heart, His ways, and His perfect will for our lives.
